The Heard family have been operating in business and living in Papakura for over 100 years across four generations.
It started with their great grandfather, George Heard, who operated a delivery service with Clydesdale horses and carts, and continued on through the years – culminating with Des and Trish moving from earthmoving into establishing a landscape supply business.
They moved premises in the late 1970s into their current location at 75 Boundary Road, Papakura. The business grew with the help of their children, Karen and Rob – further expanding into skip bins and the development of a transfer station.
In 2019 Heards was bought by Gary Edwards, who has carried on the landscaping business and continues to grow it with the help of his sons, Cameron and Harrison.
Gary’s other businesses, Mulch Man and Mulch Blowers, perfectly complement the Heards Landscaping business so, if you’re not wanting to shift the mulch yourself, they may be able to help out with that too.
